How much does a custom figurine cost?

Updated

On 17 September 2026, five online shops asked $85 to $209 for a figurine of about 10 cm made from your photo. All five charge in US dollars.

JLC3DP, the company that prints our figurines, has charged us $0.754 per cubic centimeter for full-color resin prints since 3 August 2026. That's $14.61 to print a typical 6 cm figurine.

The same figurine made twice as tall uses about eight times the resin, so it costs about eight times as much to print.

What shops charge by size

On 17 September 2026, we looked up the prices at 10 shops that make custom figurines in set sizes. The table shows what each one asked at each size, for one person, in the currency the shop uses. PrinYou's page doesn't say how many people its price covers. 3DSelfieStudio only marks its prices with a one-person icon.

Five of the shops that charge in US dollars make a figurine of about 10 cm. They asked between $85 and $209 for it. At 6 cm, about the size of a typical Nendo figurine, JuJuBit asked $69.99, and PrinYou and SnapFig asked $69.

Some of the shops print in full color and some paint by hand. A few don't say how the color gets there, and one also sells figurines in one color. Half of the shops show a crossed-out price next to a sale price. We list the price you would have paid that day. The last column shows whether shipping is included. Two of the shops don't mention it.

One more shop, Picture to Puppet, lists no sizes. Its figurines start at £560. They're printed in one color, and the shop can paint them by hand.

Nendo is the last row. Our figurines don't come in set sizes. If the 3D model we make from your drawing or photo comes out big, we shrink it so most figurines cost about the same. You can make yours bigger or smaller before you order, and a bigger one costs more.

What it costs to print one

JLC3DP in China prints our figurines in full-color resin. Since 3 August 2026, every full-color print we've paid for has cost $0.754 per cubic centimeter, before coupons and extra fees. That's 27 models and 30 prints, because 3 models were printed twice.

A cubic centimeter (cm³) is a cube 1 cm on each side. Count how many fit inside a figurine and you have its volume, which is how much resin the figurine is made of.

A typical Nendo figurine is about 6 cm on its longest side and uses 19.38 cm³. At $0.754 per cm³, that's $14.61 to print. This is the print alone, without shipping or taxes.

We couldn't find this rate on JLC3DP's website. Its full-color resin page only says "From $5", and its article on 3D printing costs gives no full-color rate. FacFox, another 3D printing service, lists $1.20 to $1.50 per cm³ for the same kind of full-color resin printing in an article from April 2025.

Print price for a typical Nendo figurine made bigger with the same shape, at $0.754 per cm³
Longest side and volumePrint price
6 cm, 19.38 cm³ (a typical Nendo figurine)$14.61
7.5 cm, 37.84 cm³$28.53
9 cm, 65.39 cm³$49.30
12 cm, 155 cm³$116.87
Volume times $0.754, the rate on our JLC3DP invoices since 3 August 2026. Full-color resin, print only. Each row is the typical 6 cm figurine made bigger with the same shape. It gets wider and deeper too, so the volume grows much faster than the size. A chunkier or slimmer figurine of the same size costs more or less. The 19.38 cm³ is the median of 18 models we paid to print that measure 5.5 to 6.5 cm on the longest side. The median is the middle value when you sort them. With 18 models, it's halfway between the 9th and the 10th.

Why size changes the print price so much

JLC3DP prices a full-color print by its volume. The 27 models we've paid to print since 3 August 2026 were about 9 to 53 cm³ each, and their price per cm³ varied by less than a tenth of a cent, whatever colors or detail they had. There's no fixed fee on top, so twice the volume costs twice as much. In the table below, the Lowest and Highest columns show how little the rate changed from one model to the next. Our older invoices had higher rates.

Volume grows much faster than height. Make a figurine twice as tall with the same shape and it also gets twice as wide and twice as deep. That's 2 x 2 x 2, so about eight times the resin and about eight times the print price. A typical 6 cm figurine costs $14.61 to print, and at 12 cm it would cost about $117. A chunky figurine uses more resin than a slim one of the same height and costs more to print.

Very small prints, under about 7 cm³, cost JLC3DP's minimum charge of about $5.22 instead.

We don't know the exact day each rate changed. In the May to June group, 16 of the 19 models were within 0.5% of $0.845. The other three came out 2.5% to 2.9% higher, and our records don't show why.

Full color or one color

Printing in one color costs a lot less. You can order a Nendo figurine in full color, matte white or matte black. For every model, we get JLC3DP quotes for the same file at the same size in full-color, black and white resin.

We looked at quotes for 344 models from 24 July to 17 September 2026. Black resin cost a bit over a quarter of the full-color price (27.6%), and white resin about an eighth (12.1%). The median quote, the middle one when you sort them by price, was $14.76 in full color, $4.07 in black and $1.78 in white.

A black or white print comes out all one color, with no paint. The black and white quotes include JLC3DP's standard sanding finish.

3DSelfieStudio, from the table above, sells a 5 cm figurine for AUD 30 in one color and AUD 120 in full-color resin.

White resin$1.78$1.73 to $1.8312.1%
JLC3DP quoted each of 344 models in all three materials from one upload at the same size, 24 July to 17 September 2026. Print only, no shipping or taxes. JLC3DP calls the materials Full Color Resin, JLC Black Resin and 9600 Resin. We worked out the share for each model and show the median. The middle half is the range left after dropping the cheapest quarter and the most expensive quarter of quotes. Full-color quotes sit near $15 because we shrink models quoted above about $17 until they cost about $15 to print.

What size $15 of printing buys

About $15 of full-color printing buys a figurine around 5 to 7 cm on its longest side. A slim one can be over 8 cm long, while a chunky one stays under 5 cm. We grouped 344 full-color quotes from 24 July to 17 September 2026 by the figurine's longest side. The median quote is close to $15 in every row.

If a model's full-color quote is above about $17, we shrink it automatically until it costs about $15 to print. Cheaper ones keep their size. You can still make a figurine bigger before you order, and then it costs more.

How long delivery takes

Our orders took a median of 17.4 days from checkout until the carrier marked them delivered, not counting cancelled orders. That's about two and a half weeks. We timed 33 paid orders placed 27 May to 26 August 2026. The middle half arrived in 15.9 to 18.4 days.

Getting printed and handed to the carrier took a median of 7.6 days, and shipping from there took 10.2 days. The two don't add up to exactly 17.4, because each median is worked out on its own, from a slightly different set of orders.

All 38 tracked orders, including ones still on the way, left China with YunExpress, a parcel company. A local carrier did the last part of the trip. In the US, that was GOFO for 13 of these orders and USPS for 2.

Every delivered order here went to the US or the EU. Most of the EU ones went to the Netherlands (18 of 21), so times to other EU countries could differ.

We don't cover customs and import charges here, because they depend on your country and can change. The official pages below explain the rules.

How we measured

The print prices, sizes, Nendo prices and delivery times come from our own database, as it was on 17 September 2026. Nothing on this page is about any one customer.

Median means the middle value, so half were lower and half were higher. The middle half leaves out the lowest quarter and the highest quarter.

Other shops' prices come from their product and pricing pages on 17 September 2026, for one person where the page says. We converted inch sizes to cm (1 inch is 2.54 cm). We didn't convert any currencies.

You can download all the tables on this page as CSV or JSON below.
  • Price per cm³ is what JLC3DP charged for a print, before coupons, shipping and taxes, divided by the volume JLC3DP measured. JLC3DP added an extra fee on five models, and we left that fee out.
  • We left out two invoices where the price in our records already had a coupon taken off. We also left out one very small print that was billed at the minimum charge. Three invoices were for two copies of one model each, so we counted the price per copy.
  • Eight of the 54 models were for orders nobody paid us for, like our own tests. JLC3DP billed them at the same rates.
  • JLC3DP's quotes for our models moved to the current full-color rate between 23 and 24 July 2026. Our first paid invoice at that rate is from 3 August 2026. The tables for materials and size, and the Nendo prices, only use quotes from 24 July on. Older quotes used higher full-color rates.
  • The materials and size tables include 7 of our own test models out of 344, and the Nendo prices include the same 7. Leaving them out gives the same medians, give or take 1 cent.
  • In the table of print prices by size, each price is the volume times the current rate. The 19.38 cm³ for a typical 6 cm figurine is the median of 18 models we paid to print. We also checked 83 full-color quotes for figurines that size, from 24 July 2026 on. We divided each quote by the rate, and the median came out at 19.39 cm³.
  • We worked out the Nendo prices for the same 344 models as the quotes by size, minus 10 that have since been deleted. We used our own price formula and the price settings we had on 17 September 2026, which we last changed on 1 August 2026. On every checkout since then that had one figurine in it and wasn't free, the formula matched the figurine price. The Nendo prices are for the figurine alone in full color, without shipping, discounts or credits. Visitors from most of Europe see euros, and everyone else sees US dollars.
  • Delivery times leave out cancelled orders, five orders from our own team and three orders nobody paid for. For three delivered orders, JLC3DP's records only show a planned ship date, so those orders aren't in the rows that use the shipped date. JLC3DP's records use China time. We took off eight hours to match our own records. Delivered dates come from carrier tracking through 17TRACK, a parcel tracking service.

Common questions

How much does it cost to 3D print a figurine in full color?

JLC3DP, the company that prints our figurines, has charged us $0.754 per cubic centimeter for full-color resin since 3 August 2026. There's no fixed fee on top, but very small prints, under about 7 cm³, cost a minimum of about $5.22. A typical 6 cm figurine uses 19.38 cm³ and costs $14.61 to print, before shipping.

Why do bigger figurines cost so much more?

The print price depends on volume, which is how much resin a figurine is made of. Make a figurine twice as tall with the same shape and it's also twice as wide and twice as deep. It uses about eight times the resin, so it costs about eight times as much to print.

Is a one-color figurine cheaper?

Yes, it's a lot cheaper to print. We compared JLC3DP quotes for the same 344 models at the same size, from 24 July to 17 September 2026. Black resin cost a bit over a quarter of the full-color price (27.6%), and white resin about an eighth (12.1%). At Nendo you can pick matte white or matte black, which come out all one color with no paint. They cost less than full color, and your figurine's page shows the price for each color before you order.

How long does a custom figurine take to arrive?

About two and a half weeks for a Nendo order with standard shipping. We timed 33 paid Nendo orders placed 27 May to 26 August 2026, from checkout to the door. The median was 17.4 days, so half arrived sooner and half later. Leave out the fastest and slowest quarters, and the rest took 15.9 to 18.4 days. Orders to the US took a median of 16.9 days, and orders to the EU 17.6 days.

Will I have to pay customs or import fees?

That depends on your country, and the rules can change. Check the official pages: U.S. Customs and Border Protection in the US, GOV.UK in the UK and the EU's Your Europe website in the EU.

How much is a figurine at Nendo?

From 24 July to 17 September 2026, most full-color figurines on Nendo cost $29 to $30 (€31 to €32). If the 3D model we make from your drawing or photo comes out big, we shrink it so most figurines cost about the same. The cheapest was $15 (€16) and the most expensive $129 (€136). Matte white and matte black cost less, and shipping is $5 (€5) on most orders. Your figurine's page shows its exact size and its price in each color before you order. It costs more if you make it bigger.
